I seek tattoo inspiration in my dreams, nature, and unique color schemes. I love to create art that “picks people up.”
A Texas native, Camille moved to NYC in the 90’s to study art at the Pratt Institute. She graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and continued an apprenticeship under the legendary Spider Webb in Manhattan. Excelling as one of very few female tattoo artists in NYC at that time, she soon moved on to work in Coney Island where she was exposed to the rich cultural history of side show banners, sign painting, and performance art. Camille returned to Texas in 2002 and partnered with Larry da Leopard at Telepathic Tattoo in East Austin. Camille became a pioneering member of the Texas Roller Derby league, inherited proprietorship of a children’s organic gardening and art camp, and has worked as a frequent guest artist at Gil Monty’s Tattoo Mania. In 2020, Camille and her banjo playing husband, Jeff Pinkus, relocated to the beautiful mountains of NC.
Her advice for a first-time client is simple: research artists that work in a style you like, find someone you click with and trust, and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
